WMS March Blog Party

Happy St. Patrick's Day. I can think of no better way to spend this beautiful spring-like day than participating in the Waltzingmouse Blog Party! Well, I could be working outside, cleaning winter's debris from the flower beds or picking up branches knocked down by recent windy days. But this is how I'd rather spend my free time. And it is a sort of a holiday, so working should be prohibited, right?

The theme for this month is St. Patrick or Irish. I've had Claire's Irish Blessings stamp set in my stash for quite some time and thought this was the perfect time to ink it up. The photo doesn't show the glitter on the blingy button I've attached to my bow and I've managed to obscure many of the shamrocks by my camera angle. Can you tell it's been a long time since I've taken a photo for a blog post?

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Irish Blessings, Fancy Phrases
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, AMuse Sage, unknown green
Cardstock: unknown green and cream
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Breeze

WMS Sketch Challenge 70

Whew! Just made this week's Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch Challenge. You know how when you start out with an idea in mind and it totally morphs into something entirely different. Well, that is the case with today's card.

And I must confess about the sentiment. If you are at all squeamish, I suggest you stop reading. I warned you ...... here it is. I cut 2 stamps apart to make this sentiment, removing an "s" from each word. I find I can smoosh Claire's stamps back together if I want the original word.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

I wanted to participate in the WMS Sketch Challenge 69 and pulled out all my Halloween stamps. Life got in the way and I never got around to making my entry. This weekend I decided to complete a card before putting the stamps away. When I looked at all of Claire's great witches, the idea of a portrait gallery came to me.

WMS Sketch Challenge 68

Oh, it's been such a long time since I've posted a card. Blame it on a long crafting funk. Yes, I've been stamping all along but not really enjoying it. My crafty friend Katie has been after me to participate in some challenges to get that mojo going again. And, you know what, I think it worked. I had so much fun with this card that I'm going to see what I can put together for the blog waltz on the 17th.

PTI February Blog Hop

It's the 25th of the month and time for the PTI blog hop. The theme this month is scallops of any sort, on a project! This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops, scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up!

My February release stamps showed up on Friday, just in time for weekend crafting. I have lots of flower stamps but couldn't wait to get my hands on the one in Flower Fusion #1. It matched my brand new My Mind's Eye paper perfectly!

Fun colors, fun stamps, fun time in my craft room.

Make It Monday #2 - Channeling Chanel to Take Betsy's Challenge

Sorry for being away from the blog for so long. For once, it wasn't a creativity issue or even a camera issue. (Blushing and hiding head) ... I forgot how to edit photos. All is well and just in time to play in the PTI Make it Monday Challenge.

This week's challenge is to use vellum for a sentiment. Yikes. Love the look of vellum but not the stamping on it or trying to attach it invisibly.

Then on Friday Betsy Veldman posted so many cute ideas using the Favor-It dies for projects other than favors. An idea began to take form.

Here's my take on a famous designer purse, complete with quilted details (courtesy of Tin Types Impression plate) and a tag so you know it's authentic (using the perfect Fresh Alphabet stamp set)

OK, maybe I need to go back to the drawing board on the camera. The quilting details aren't showing up very well. Anyway, it was a fun card to come up with.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: Fresh Alphabet, Embellishments, Around & About Sentiments
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, True Black, Sweet Blush
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Sweet Blush
Miscellaneous: Favor It Box 1, Tin Types Impression Plate, Edgers #1 Collection, MS punch, vellum, pearl, dimensionals, SU silver cord.

January PTI Blog Hop Challenge

Here's the challenge Nichole posted for this month:

With the new year comes a clean slate along with many resolutions. This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust! Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold.

Perfect for me! One of my resolutions is to "use what I got." So my card features 2 stamp sets that have never seen ink and one color of cardstock that sat in an unopened pack. I also chose a new color combo for me. The last personal challenge? Make a masculine card.

So how did I do? Does this classify as a masculine card? I mean, I didn't use bling, lacy borders or ribbon. And it was very hard not to!

Oh, and if any PTI DT members visit here, please notice the striped paper. See how great it looks. Just another shameless plug for a Bitty Stripes Basics collection.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: Larger Than Life, Guide Lines Two, Autumn Abundance
Card Stock: Stampers Select White, Harvest Gold, SU Basic Grey
Patterned Paper: SU Designer Series Paper Neutrals Collection
Ink: Palette Charcoal, Sun Flower
Miscellaneous: Circle punch, Double Ended Banner die, dimensionals

January Friends of WMS Blog Waltz

It's January 17 and time for another Waltzing Mouse Stamps Blog Waltz. The theme this month is Valentines/Love.

In order to combat the monotony of hours on the treadmill or elliptical, I design cards in my head. I had this great idea for a card only to find out I didn't have the set I needed. Truly, I thought I had purchased it some time during 2010. You can guess what will be on my next order! So I used the only WMS set with hearts that I have.

Can't wait to see what Claire has in store for us in 2011.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Stamps: Faux Fun, Seasons of Love - Tags
Card Stock: PTI Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush, Vintage Cream

Card for a Friend

Happy New Year, everyone! Now let's see if I remember how to update my blog. Add to that the complexities of a new camera. I may never post again! LOL

Here's a card I made to send to a friend who is facing some difficulties. In my quest to "use what I got", I pulled out some older rubber stamps and had fun creating this card.

I have lots more to post once I figure out this camera. I finally finished my coaster calendars for 2011. Just a couple of days late.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

November Friends of WMS Blog Waltz

It's November 15 and time for the WMS monthly blog waltz. To get us in the mood for the holidays (or maybe to give us a push to complete those holiday cards), the theme this month is Christmas.

Several years ago, one of my favorite paper companies, My Mind's Eye, had a Christmas paper collection that featured browns and blues. I've always liked that color combo and decided to use those non-traditional colors as my inspiration. Although I have several WMS Christmas sets, I seem to go back to Very Vintage Christmas over and over this year.

I pulled out my trusty Marvy snowflake punch to create my embellishment. And Tara, if you are reading this, I had to stand on it to get it to work. I actually thought I broke it but after a bit of time manipulating it, it's ok and ready for the next snowflake!

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: Very Vintage Christmas, Seasons of Love, Off Beat Backgrounds
Cardstock: PTI Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Spring Rain
Ink: PTI Dark Chocolate, Spring rain
Miscellaneous: SU Very Vanilla seam binding, Marvy snowflake punch, Hero Arts rhinestones, Nestabilities Pinked Circle die

A Year of PTI - November

With Christmas 6 weeks away, I need to get moving on my calendars. The designs are the challenge for me. Assembly goes pretty easily. In fact, I'll probably be mass producing these when the NE Ohio PTI group gets together on December 4.

So here's the November design. I try not to repeat themes from year to year and I've already done turkeys, acorns and leaves for this month. Wish PTI would add a cornucopia stamp to their line up.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: First Fruits, Calendar Basics
Card Stock: Dark Cocolate, Vintage Creme, Summer Sunrise
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Summer Sunrise, Palette Cognac

I love to participate in sketch challenges but it seems I rarely have time to do so. Since we gained an hour last night, I'm putting that extra hour towards stamping. Here's what I came up with for Challenge #22. It's not my traditional style but I had so much fun creating it.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

A Year of PTI - December

Here we are at the last day of the month and I managed to get one more calendar page done. Three down, nine to go and less than 60 days. The craft room cleaning is still in process. With family coming to visit for Thanksgiving, I really need to kick this cleaning up a notch.

But it was far more fun to pull out some stamps for a couple of hours. It's funny how sometimes a project comes together so quickly, while other times it is such a struggle. Today was one of those easy, peasy days. Who knows why!

I found that the retired Stampin' Up Handsome Hunter is a pretty good match for Pinefeather. And I like Pinefeather better in person than on the website.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Calendar Basics
Card Stock: Pinefeather, Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White
Ink: SU Handsome Hunter, Pure Poppy

A Year of PTI - July

My crafting time has been a bit limited lately. I'm cleaning and organizing my craft room. I've got a huge box of cardstock and patterned paper ready to go to the local daycare. I'm sure the kids will have fun with my castoffs and I'm glad to see the box go.

I'm still working on my calendar, a Christmas gift for family and friends. Here's the month of July. I'm working through the months as inspiration hits. If you scroll down, you can see the only other month complete - September.

Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

It's the 17th of the month and time for the Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamp Blog Waltz. The theme for this month is Autumn/Harvest. Fall is my favorite time of the year. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

PTI Christmas Tags

PTI is offering a new set of tags this month and several of the DT posts have centered around tags. I decided to challenge myself to make tags using a number of older PTI sets. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.
