Going out like a lamb!

I started March so strong. Participated in a lot of challenges. Made and posted a lot of cards. Felt energized and accomplished a lot. It's the end of the month and I can't even get my MO and my JO in the same room.

Here's a card I did earlier in the month. When Nichole posted the DT favorite spring colors, kraft, sweet blush, deep chocolate and vintage cream were the choice of Lisa Johnson.

I pulled out an old set, Spiral Bouquet. I've always loved the sentiments in this set. Hope you enjoy.

And looking forward to starting some new challenges in April.

Organizing PTI Dies

I took a break from cleaning out my clothes closet to ... organize my scrap table. Yeah, who says I don't know how to have fun!!

Anyhow, we have had several threads on the PTI forum on how to organize our dies. I've been a fan of Quickutz Magnetic Storage Books for some time. I bought them for all my Nesties but today I used one for my PTI dies. Thought you might like to see it in use.

Looks like I have room for whatever PTI introduces in April!

PTI March Blog Hop

Yay! It's March blog hop time. Here's my story. I had a great idea for a card using some of my new release goodies. However, the new goodies did not show up until Monday and I only have time to play on the weekend. So I had to come up with a whole new idea.

I wanted to try making stripes since Nichole used a stamp from Luck of the Irish on one of her cards. So that became my starting point. I also wanted to try my hand at constructing a bird house roof using a scallop border punch. Note to self - it takes a lot of border punch strips to cover a roof so cut it down to the smallest size that will work.

So here is my project using buttons as embellishments. Hope you enjoy. Hope my mom enjoys this card for Mother's Day.

Poppy Seed Challenge 2

whew! Finally I'm able to make a card and get something new to my poor ignored blog. I put a quick card together for Lisa's Poppy Seed Challenge. This time we had to use light moss, buttons and polka dots. Since my new PTI goodies have yet to arrive, I had to pull out some old sets.

Now off to put something together for PTI's blog challenge on the 25th.

Compose a Card 6

This was my third time playing with Becky's Compose a Card Challenge. I found this one to be the most difficult. I think the limited number of pieces and colors (one layer, one ribbon, one button and embossing powder) caused my creativity to freeze up. It took many miles on the elliptical and treadmill before I came up with the tiniest of ideas. Yes, I design cards in my head while working out. It eases the boredom of working out 7 days a week. And makes the time go by much faster.

Anyhow, the colors always said "Wedding card" to me so I used that as a starting point. I used my new Nestabilities and found some beads and charms to finish this off.

Teapot & Quilts

It seems like the flu is making the rounds again. So I needed a get well card. What better comfort when you are not feeling well than a soothing cup of tea and a well-worn quilt.

For my colors, I was inspired by this card Dana posted for Lisa's Poppy Seed Challenge.

Poppy Seed Challenge 1

Woohoo!! Lisa Johnson of Poppy Paperie has started a new challenge. She provides 3"seeds" of inspiration. This time those seeds are a flower stamp, light yellow and crystals.

For my card, I decided to select one of Lisa's stamp sets called Remember. I used two of the flowers in this set to create both the background and the focal point. This set features one of my absolute favorite sentiments "True strength is delicate". Isn't that a great one? What a perfect sentiment for an encouragement card! My photo does not show the golden metallic crystals that ring the center of the flower.
